UPDATES AND INFORMATION FROM MAYOR BRETT LAMBRECHT

City Council Meeting 9/8/26 Review:

Dr. Lisa Karsh, Interim President of NDSCS, addressed the council regarding her desire for a strong working relationship with the city. 

First reading was had of budget ordinance #1080.

Fall clean-up week will be October 12-16. Items must be brought to Waste Management at 1016 11th Avenue South in Wahpeton.

Council approved a Community Enhancement Committee recommendation to fund re-roofing the Prairie Rose Carousel building.

The new city logo drafts are ready and will be discussed by both committees on Monday, September 14.

The Classic and Classy Car Show will take place in Downtown Wahpeton on Thursday, September 10 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.

The Wahpeton Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 10 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Most activities are in Chahinkapa Park. For a full list of activities, places, and times visit wahpetonevents.com.

Chocolate Day at Leach Public Library will be held on Thursday, October 8.

Work is in progress at the impound building on the south side of town to be used as a storage building for holiday decorations, etc.

Water tower #1 on 11th Avenue is still a work in progress. Additional work on the inside of the tower was discovered to be needed, but the project is still expected to be done by winter.

Council will continue to have discussions about e-scooters and bikes.

Council approved the bidding process for the sale of used Christmas decorations no longer being used by the city.
