City Council Meeting 6/1/26 Review:

Three oaths of office were taken: Officer Shawn Johnson, Jr. joined the Wahpeton Police Department; Officer Lisa Page was promoted to Sergeant; and Sergeant Craig Cory was promoted to Deputy Chief of Police.

Cemetery etiquette was reviewed.

Reminder that the general election will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Wahpeton's polling location is the Wahpeton Event Center.

The County Board of Equalization is Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

A street closure for Dakota Avenue was approved for an Operation Zero event on August 15, 2026.

Crack sealing, mowing, tree watering, and street sweeping continue throughout the city.

An engineering agreement with Interstate Engineering for traffic signal control upgrades was approved.

An agreement with Waste Management for residential solid waste and recycling services was approved.

First reading of Ordinance #1078 regarding the Wahpeton Weed Board was held.

A public hearing regarding a charitable gaming site authorization policy was set for June 15, 2026 at 5:00 pm at City Hall.

Council approve the 2027 budget preparation calendar and premises.
